The Safety First Program is funded in partnership with the City of Aurora's Community Development Block Grant.  

The Neighbor Project administers this program which addresses safety issues within the city limits of Aurora. Eligible repairs include mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems; roof and porch repairs or replacements. The thing to remember is eligibility requires that the repair has anything to do with the safety of your home. For more information, visit the website or contact (630) 906-9400.

Through the Safe at Home program, Rebuilding Together Aurora provides no-cost, home safety and accessibility modifications for low-income homeowners who are seniors, living with a disability or caring for a loved one with a disability. Funded by the City of Aurora's Community Development Block Grant, this program offers up to up to $5,000 in homebuyer assistance to households with total income at or below 80% of the Area Median Family Income ($95,900 for a four person household in 2025) and who choose to purchase their home in the City. Three year legal covenants for homeowners (primary residence) and maintenance apply.
