Temporary Warming Shelter

The temporary warming shelter will operate on nights when temperatures are at or below 15°F, from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM, or when weather conditions are severe due to a combination of wind chill and precipitation. In partnership with Wesley United Methodist Church, the City of Aurora is providing this shelter to ensure individuals in need have a safe and warm space during extreme cold weather.

For Those Who Need Shelter

Aurora residents who need a warm place during freezing temperatures:

  • Location: Wesley United Methodist Church

14 N May St, Aurora, IL 60506

  • Hours: 8 PM - 8 AM

  • Services Provided:

    • Warm sleeping area(s)

    • Snacks and Water

This temporary warming shelter will be operated in partnership with Wesley United Methodist Church.

  • Shelter set-up and take-down

  • Providing meals for shelter guests

  • Picking up and delivering supplies for the shelter
