Our democracy is built on the idea of participatory government. The City of Aurora’s boards, commissions, and councils perform a vital role in making our government work locally

By working with the Mayor, City Council Members, and City staff, members of our boards, commissions, and councils become more familiar with the strengths and challenges of the community, and can apply their own talents and experiences to improve the quality of life for everyone living in the City of Lights.

Volunteering to serve on a board, commission, or council is an opportunity to give back to the community and to make a distinct difference as we move Aurora forward.
