Sidewalk and Driveway Replacement

Sidewalk Replacement

The City of Aurora maintains the public sidewalk system consisting of concrete sidewalk within the right-of-way and will repair sidewalks (including sidewalks through driveways) that meet one or more of the following conditions:

1. Sidewalk sections that have raised or sunk creating a vertical displacement of two inches (2”) or more.

2. Sidewalk sections that have broken and separated into three or more pieces where each piece is over 1 foot square. Cracks must be opened 1/8” or more.

3. Sidewalk sections where 50% or more of the surface is deteriorated as defined by scaling to a depth of ½” or more.

Conditions to be measured and evaluated by the Engineering Division.

Sidewalk locations with standing water on the sidewalk for longer than 48 hours after a rain/snow/melt event will be investigated by the Engineering Division for potential solutions. See the City of Aurora's Drainage Policy for details.

If you are concerned about the condition of sidewalks, please contact the City of Aurora, Customer Services Division at 630-256-4636.
