The City of Aurora is excited to celebrate National Cybersecurity Awareness Month by offering residents a free home internet security course and virtual cybersecurity workshop.
The City’s InformationTechnology Department is collaborating with KnowBe4, the world’s largest internet security awareness training platform, to offerAurora residents a free home internet security course designed to assist families in making smart, safe decisions online.
Available throughout the month of October, the course will help community members identify security awareness, understand how cybercriminals operate, and learn how to protect themselves from cyber-attacks.

The City is also participating in the Cybersecurity Awareness Month Champions Program to promote online safety and privacy awareness. In collaboration NATIONAL CYBERSECURITY ALLIANCE, the City will host a virtual cybersecurity workshop entitled, “Think you’re Hiding on the internet,” at 2:30p.m.to 3:15p.m. on Thursday, October 9th.
Led by Internet-famous social media influencer Kristen Sotakoun Executive Director of National Cybersecurity Alliance, the free session will provide education how we can all avoid being socially engineered with the data publicly available about us, along with some tips to improve our privacy.
