City of Aurora Ride Solution (C.A.R.S.)
The City of Aurora is proud to introduce the C.A.R.S. program—City of Aurora Ride Solution—a free, supplemental transportation service created to support our senior residents (ages 60 and older) and individuals living with disabilities within Aurora.
This program was developed in direct response to the voices of our community. Following our Senior and Disability Listening Tours in 2021–2022, it became clear that transportation remains a major barrier to health, independence, and connection for many residents. We listened—and we acted.
Through strong collaboration with trusted Community Business Partners—VNA Health Care, Association for Individual Development, Senior Services Associates, and Weston Bridges—C.A.R.S. provides safe, reliable, and no-cost rides to approved clients facing high-priority needs. These rides are designated for essential destinations including medical appointments, nutrition services, employment opportunities, and wellness or recreational activities.
While our partners have existing transportation resources, the C.A.R.S. program is designed to remove the limitations that often prevent consistent, affordable, and dependable access to care and community.
At its heart, C.A.R.S. is more than just a ride—it’s a pathway to connection, dignity, and quality of life. Together with our partners, we are working to enhance lives and legacies through equitable and compassionate transportation solutions.
