This list is provided only as a service to assist you in finding background investigation services, and is not meant to be an exhaustive list of such companies. This list is not intended as an endorsement or recommendation by the City of Aurora.
Criminal Background check must be a state or national search.
Remember! You have the power to prevent problems. You should use the most thorough process possible to screen prospective tenants because the worst time to screen your residents is during the eviction process.

Criminal background checks must specify that they are STATE or NATIONAL criminal background searches.

Property Standards does not accept Been Verified, Instant Checkmate, PeopleFinders, or Tenant Verification Services.

Criminal Background Checks and Lease Addendums must be presented at time of initial inspection to avoid fines.

If disclaimer states, "DO NOT USE FOR TENANT SCREENING", Property Standards will not accept as proof of background check.

Please do not upload copies of Criminal Background Checks to the Online Portal. Due to the sensitive information included in these reports the City of Aurora cannot maintain copies of this information.
