The City of Aurora utilizes a color-coded system for on-street and lot parking which carry different time limits. Since parking spaces closer to the heart of downtown are in more demand, they carry shorter limits than those located in other areas. Not only does this system result in more equitable parking opportunities for businesses and patrons alike, it also allows you to choose your most convenient option depending on the time you will spend downtown.
Aurora's downtown parking is broken down into 5 color-coded categories. In addition, the Stolp Island Parking Garage at the corner of Downer Place and Stolp Avenue has free parking for up to 1 hour and reasonable parking rates with longer limits. After 5 p.m., the City offers public parking at the northwest corner of River and New York Streets in the West Suburban Bank parking lot until 3 a.m.
